About Arun Photay

Arun was born and raised in Wolverhampton with his parents and sister. His father moved from Delhi in the early 80s in search of “the Great British dream” his hard work paid off with a successful career in finance. Arun credits his mother however, for being his ultimate inspiration. She began working for the local authority at 17 before moving into fraud investigation. Through hard work and determination she rose through the ranks whilst raising a young family, shattering the proverbial glass ceiling. It is these values of hard work and aspiration that saw Arun join the party ay 17 and stand for his first election shortly after moving back to Wolverhampton from university.

Arun was elected as a Councillor in 2012 and fought his first parliamentary seat in 2015. He was ward secretary and federation treasurer for a number of years and after 4 years serving on the West Midlands Region is continuing to lead from the front as the Regional Chairman. 

Arun is married to a local GP and has a two young energetic boys. He spent most of his professional career in commercial banking before setting up his own consultancy business working with multiple businesses from multi-national companies to local SMEs. Arun is committed to strong businesses and supporting new opportunities in the Midlands for a strong global post Brexit Britain.

In his spare time Arun supports local charities in his community and helps run the annual round table festival raising thousands each year for local causes. He is also an ambassador for the Sharan Project, a charity that supports abused women. He is also a fervent supporter of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services. His great grandfather Subedar Bir Singh fought in both the 1st & 2nd World War. Arun inherited their values of hard work, family and patriotism. He is committed to ensuring our armed forces are well funded and supported. He believes that we should do far more to look after them and their families in return for their total commitment to protecting us.
